St Luke’s Newcastle upon Tyne is one of the closest churches to the two universities in Newcastle: Located right on the doorstep of the Newcastle University Medical School.

We are a Fusion linked church and fully committed as well to the work of the Christian Unions in Newcastle’s universities and colleges. We students take an active part in the Sunday services and drop into early morning prayer. Our aim is to cultivate spirit filled disciples of Jesus.

On Wednesdays we gather at 7pm for Quest. Quest is our weekly gathering where we share food and disciple each other. On the First Wednesday of every month we meet at St Luke’s with older members of church, followed by a time of open worship. All other Wednesdays we meet in each others houses to seek God together and look at ways of outworking our faith.

We are also keen to meet up individually to chat and pray through aspects of your personal journey.

If you are new, we would love to meet you. Come and find us before our Sunday evening service over some cake – look out for our faces below, and do join our Facebook group.

Your Friendly Student Team

 Floss Bowen-Rees

Hi, I’m Floss and I’m a 5th year medical student at Newcastle University. I’ve loved my time in Newcastle so far and St Luke’s has really helped me build and grow in my faith. I love the friendly atmosphere and St Luke’s has been a great family for me.

I always look forward to our weekly student group and church on a Sunday evening. Life at university can have many ups and downs and being able to pray for each other and receive prayer has been a great way to support each other.
